Holy Anger Basic principle: JOHN. 2 : 17. "Zeal for your house will consume me." The idea of being led to anger by the Holy Spirit of God may seem foreign to some minds. In fact, there are many instances in the Bible where this took place, usually (but not always) with a zeal for the purity of worship. Holy anger in you, is God's way of expressing His intense desire to see a situation change. When such anger is felt, most people react. So what is Holy anger? Read ACTS. 5 : 1-4; ACTS. 8 : 18-23; 1 COR. 5 : 12-13; 1 COR. 11 : 17-22. 1. Are you ready to be consumed with zeal for the Lord's House? What would make you angry for the Lord's House? Read ZECH. 1 : 14; 2 COR. 11 : 2. 2. What do you think the difference is between Holy anger and Holy jealousy? Read LUKE. 13 : 14-17; ACTS. 7 : 51-53. 3. In the above two examples of scripture, Jesus and Paul were obviously angry; what do you think made them angry? Have you known the righteous anger of God to well up inside you? Read ACTS. 16 : 16-18; 2 JOHN. : 9-11; 3 JOHN. : 9-11. 4. Is it our place to be angry with the Devil, and his works? If so, in what ways should we express this Holy anger?
